Military police officer is arrested for cell phone theft in Baixada Fluminense | Rio de Janeiro

Rio – A military police officer and two other men were arrested red-handed, this Thursday morning (28), after stealing cell phones and electronic devices from a department store, in Queimados, Baixada Fluminense. The crime took place in the city center and was reported to the 24th BPM (Burns) by the establishment manager.

According to the Military Police, the teams were called to a theft incident and at the scene, the manager reported the location address of the stolen cell phones, tracked by a georeferencing system (GPS). The agents managed to locate and arrest the three involved in the crime, including a military police officer, in addition to seizing several electronic devices taken by the criminals.

The PM informed that the internal affairs department was called to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the soldier will be subjected to a Disciplinary Administrative Process (PAD). “We emphasize that the corporation’s command does not condone or tolerate any misconduct, committing crimes or abuse of authority carried out by its members, rigorously punishing those involved when the facts are established”, he added. The case was forwarded to the 55th DP (Burns).
