Two men, aged 18 and 70, were arrested for illegal possession of a firearm, in an action by the Military Police and Civil Police of the municipality of Apiacás, this Friday (26.04). Four rifles and ammunition for weapons were seized from the duo.
According to the incident report, the team from the 1st PM Platoon of Apiacás received a call for support from the Civil Police to travel to a rural property to locate a suspect of domestic violence. According to reports, the suspect had firearms hidden at the location.
The agents went to the address provided and arrested the suspect for the crime of domestic violence. The man was then questioned by the police about the location of the supposed weapon, and he confirmed its existence, indicating the place where the object was hidden.
Inside the property, police located four shotguns hidden behind a door. When asked again about the materials, the suspect said he owned only one of the weapons and took the agents to the second suspect, who lived in a nearby residence and would be the owner of the weapons.
The PM and PJC officers went to the second address and approached the other suspect, who confirmed that he was the owner of the shotguns. The man also told agents that he did not have any documentation to possess the firearms.
Given the situation, the two men were arrested and taken to the Apiacás police station to register the incident and take other measures.
