The Plano Piloto Administration met with various bodies of the Government of the Federal District, establishment owners and traders to discuss the main demands of the Southern Commercial Sector, this Wednesday (27). During the meeting, several topics were discussed, such as security, infrastructure, street vendors, the homeless population and the PMDF Monitoring Center.

The administrator of Plano Piloto, Valdemar Medeiros, emphasized that the renewal of the Southern Commercial Sector (SCS) took an important step with the approval of Complementary Law Project (PLC) No. 141/2022 to expand the uses and activities of the site, and that the space has been included with the revitalization of the courts. “The Government of the Federal District has been keeping a close eye on the SCS. The renovation of blocks 3, 4 and 5 has already been completed, where around R$ 12 million was invested in sidewalk construction services, restoration of the pavement in the parking area, re-marking of road signs, landscaping and implementation of urban furniture”, he highlighted. During the meeting, integration with other bodies of the Government of the Federal District (GDF) was also reinforced to revitalize the Southern Commercial Sector (SCS), with the support of the DF Public Security Secretariat (SSP/DF), continuing the work which has already been carried out, with the police presence and the expansion of specific and preventive operations in the space, which are fundamental to increasing the feeling of security of businesspeople and SCS visitors.

Participating in the meeting were the Executive Secretary of Public Security of the DF, Alexandre Patury, the Deputy Secretary of State for Government, Valmir Lemos, the representative of DF Legal, Dr. José Ribamar, the SCS city hall, the administrator of the Plano Piloto Valdemar Medeiros, Colonel Cintia Queiroz of the PM, the Undersecretary of Technological Modernization of the SSP/DF, Lieutenant Colonel Fábio Martins, and Segov advisor Alexandre Yanez.
