Rio – A robber died after running over a military police officer during an attempted approach on Avenida Brasil, near the Manguinhos viaduct, in the West Zone, this Tuesday morning (26). The agent was injured and was taken to Getúlio Vargas Hospital, in Penha.
According to the corporation, Special Rondas and Crowd Control (RECOM) teams ordered a driver to stop after receiving information that the car he was driving was similar to a vehicle that had been stolen, where the victim registered the case at the 59th DP (Duque de Caxias).
Subsequently, the man did not obey the order and ran over one of the agents, at which point he was also injured. He was rescued and taken to Getúlio Vargas Hospital, but he did not survive.
In the action, a replica rifle was seized and the car recovered. The incident was forwarded to the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC).
