This Thursday (27), the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Caged), linked to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, released data on the job market in Sergipe. The updated numbers reveal a positive balance of 1,579 jobs created in the state during the month of February.

The positive balance is the result of the difference between 11,285 admissions and 9,706 dismissals recorded throughout the month. It is worth mentioning that this data is exclusive to workers with a formal contract, not including informal workers.

In comparison with February 2023, when Sergipe recorded a positive balance of 1,361 jobs, there is an improvement in the state’s economic outlook, with a growth of 218 jobs compared to the same period in the previous year.

Considering the accumulated result for the year 2024, the total stock registered by Caged in Sergipe reaches the mark of 329,562 formal jobs.

In Brazil

Brazil closed the month of February with a positive balance of 306,111 formal jobs, resulting from 2,249,070 admissions and 1,942,959 dismissals.

The five major sectors of the economy recorded a positive balance in February. Services leads with 193,127 new jobs; followed by industry, with 54,448 jobs; construction, 35,053 jobs; business. 19,724 positions; and agriculture, which closed the month with a balance of 3,759 jobs.
