The Public Ministry of Paraíba and the municipalities of São José de Piranhas, Carrapateira, Bonito de Santa Fé and Monte Horebe signed an agreement so that events held in 2024 will end at 3 am, with the sounds turned off at that time.

The measure was taken at a hearing held this Monday (25/03), by the São José de Piranhas prosecutor, Sávio Pinto Damasceno, which was attended by Major Hugo do Nascimento; and representatives of the municipalities of São José de Piranhas, Expedito Holanda and Maria Idileide; Carrapateira’s advisor, Kercia Lima, and secretary José Irineu; the attorney general of Monte Horeb, Ronzinério Oliveira; and the mayor of Bonito de Santa Fé, Antônio Lucena; and the Municipal Attorney, Cícero Feitosa

It was also agreed that the municipalities would be responsible for hiring private security guards and civil firefighters for these events. Furthermore, municipalities are obliged to guide the population and sellers regarding the consumption of drinks in plastic containers, by widely publicizing the prohibition of use in glass containers, being able to seize those that do not meet the standards established at the event.

It was also decided that the Military Police be appointed 15 to 20 days in advance of each event. At the hearing, the PM explained the need for this advance notice due to the difficulty in providing security to everyone at events that take place throughout the year in the region, given the low police force.
