Penthouse resident is arrested on suspicion of cutting the rope holding a worker cleaning the facade of a building

According to the Paraná MP, who filed a complaint against the suspect, the worker only did not fall because a safety device prevented him from falling.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of trying to kill a worker who, suspended by a rope, was cleaning the facade of a building on Avenida Silva Jardim, in the Água Verde neighborhood, in Curitiba, Paraná.

After the crime, the Public Ministry of Paraná, through the 3rd Public Prosecutor’s Office for Intentional Crimes against Life in the capital, filed a criminal complaint against the person being investigated, identified as Raul Ferreira Pelegrin.

According to the MP informed the Earththe case occurred on March 14, when the accused, who lives on the top floor of the building, on the 27th floor, allegedly cut the rope that supported the worker.

“The victim only did not fall from the sixth floor thanks to the operation of a safety device that prevented the fall. The complaint is of attempted murder, with two qualifiers: use of insidious means and a resource that made the victim’s defense difficult. The reason for the crime is still unknown”, pointed out the Public Ministry.

According to the Civil Police, at the time, the man was arrested for attempted murder by the Military Police and taken to the PCPR arrest center, along with the woman who lied that he would not be inside the house.

The woman was interviewed and subsequently released, while the suspect was sent to the Penitentiary system. He was placed under preventive detention and continues to be held in the Curitiba Public Prison.
