The average price of regular gasoline in Santa Catarina remained stable for the sixth consecutive week. The price per liter is being sold at R$ 5.87 on average at gas stations in the State. The survey is from the most recent survey by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), which consulted the values between the 17th and 23rd of this month.

The average value of R$5.87 has been exactly the same for three weeks and has been without an increase for six weeks. This is the third period of stability in fuel prices in Santa Catarina recorded in the last six months.
In September last year, the average price of gasoline in the State dropped to R$5.88, a level at which it remained for seven weeks, with slight fluctuations until mid-October. In the following weeks, the price fell by just over 20 cents, reaching R$5.64.
Between December last year and January this year there was a new period of stability. For nine weeks, the average value of fuel sold at stations was between R$5.70 and R$5.75.

At the beginning of February, a change in the ICMS calculation on gasoline raised prices across the country. As a result, the average price in the State rose 4.5%, rising to R$5.90. It was the most recent high recorded.
In the following weeks, the average value dropped a few cents, according to ANP research, reaching the current level of R$5.87.
The vice-president of the Union of Gas Stations of Florianópolis (Sindópolis), Joel Fernandes, confirms that the price of gasoline has remained stable at the pumps in recent weeks. According to him, the result of this is the non-occurrence of increases by Petrobras and the distributors.

Prices in municipalities
The ANP research also shows the difference in regular gasoline prices between cities in Santa Catarina. Brusque, in Vale do Itajaí, continues to have the most expensive fuel in the State, with an average value of R$6.06. Two other municipalities have average values above the R$6.00 mark: Lages (R$6.03) and Concórdia (R$6).
At the other end of the list, the lowest average prices for regular gasoline in the State are in Araranguá (R$ 5.70) and Tubarão (R$ 5.61).
The ANP survey raised prices in 219 prices in 21 cities in Santa Catarina.
