A joint action by the Public Ministry of Acre (MP-AC) and the Military Police carries out 47 judicial warrants in three municipalities in Acre, this Tuesday, the 26th. The 4th phase of Operation Tempest targets members of a criminal organization.
According to the MP-AC, the action, which focuses on the Juruá region, was based on the analysis of documents seized in previous works, when leaders of a criminal organization with national operations, with a high hierarchical level, were identified, responsible for the nuclei registration, accounting and payment at drug sales points.
Preventive arrest and search and seizure warrants are being served in the municipalities of Tarauacá, Cruzeiro do Sul and Rio Branco. In total, more than 80 military police officers were employed to carry out the operation, in addition to prosecutors from the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) and MP-AC employees.
The name “Operação Tempestade” was chosen due to the magnitude of the area in which the warrants were served, including several municipalities in Acre. Furthermore, the period of the outbreak corresponds to that prone to a greater possibility of heavy rains in the state.
The first phase began on January 28, 2022, when 126 court orders were served. The second phase, on December 21, 2022, fulfilled 46 court orders. The third phase, on August 16, 2023, fulfilled 62 court orders.
