Bauru restaurant promotes lectures for staff well-being

Part of a sector that suffers from a pressure routine and has a high rate of turnover, O Ren SushiJapanese food restaurant in Bauru created in 2019seeks ways to promote the well-being of the team, made up of per about 40 employees.

One of the initiatives involves holding lectures with experts on different topics, such as financial education and nutrition, seeking to offer support and guidance to employees.

Second Guilherme Rodrigues, a partner in the restaurant, most of the team are young people and generally come from other cities. Therefore, the idea of ​​the lectures is to contribute as professional and personal development.

“What makes Ren Sushi work are the people who work there. From service to cleaning the fish, they are the ones who make everything happen. When I opened the business, I understood that people are the most valuable asset and, therefore, I want them to be well”comments the businessman, indicating how the objective is to provide a healthy and productive work environment.

Work-life balance

The latest edition of the initiative, held on April 29th (during the week of World Day for Safety and Health at Work), was a lecture on Burnout, considering that Brazil is the second country with the most cases of the disease.

The psychologist and speaker, Patricia Sartoritook advantage of the theme to reinforce the importance of balance between work and personal life. “Companies are concerned about PPE [equipamentos de proteção individual] physical equipment, such as helmet, boots, etc. But I like to think that they also need to look at what I call mental PPE”, emphasizes.

Sartori also comments that taking care of the team’s mental health is a way to reduce the number of absences due to burnout when conscientizAllah about the subject.

“In the lecture, I sought to encourage small changes in attitude. There’s no point in changing everything at once. You need to think about simple behaviors that can be significant in the long term. From this, I hope they can have a different perspective on life.”reports.

Personal experience

More than sharing knowledge, Patrícia also approached the subject from her own experience. She graduated in Law and worked at a bank for 14 years.

“I always felt a void in this area”he comments, remembering how this sensation had consequences. “There was no talk of burnout at the time, but I’m sure that was my condition. I had depression and panic attacks”.

About six years ago, Sartori left the bank and went to work in art and raised R$120,000 for an NGO in Pantanal, in 2020.

He then graduated in Psychology at PUC in Rio Grande do Sul, specialized in Human Development and began working as a speaker and mentor of ‘Sustainable Performance’, a form of progress in your career without forgetting the well-being.

“That’s where I found myself! I felt valuable when I was able to talk to my colleagues about this problem and made them see life from this perspective.”comments the psychologist.
