District of Lumiar, in Nova Friburgo, will gain a Health Emergency post
Work began this Monday (1st) to build an emergency health post in the district of Lumiar, in Nova Friburgo, in the Serrana region of Rio.
With an estimated completion time of 210 days, the unit will receive a total investment of R$894,165.42, as announced by City Hall.
The project includes a complete structure, with suture rooms, urgency/emergency rooms, reception and patient embarkation/disembarkation area.
To the g1, Nova Friburgo City Hall stated that the unit will meet the urgent need for medical care in the region, which currently only has one health post for routine services. Emergency cases, for example, cannot wait for travel, which is relatively time-consuming.
Currently, residents of the district of Lumiar, which has a population of approximately 6,042 inhabitants, and São Pedro da Serra, with around 3,896 residents, face the difficulty of having to travel a distance of more than 30 kilometers to the Raul Sertã Municipal Hospital to receive emergency care, taking approximately more than 40 minutes to travel.
The construction of the emergency station is the result of a transfer of R$930,600.00 by the federal government to Nova Friburgo City Hall.
The new unit will operate 24 hours a day, serving not only the residents of Lumiar and São Pedro da Serra, but also other nearby locations, totaling almost 10 thousand people benefiting.
