Public success, exhibition in honor of Ziraldo is extended at CCBB | Show and Leisure – Your official guide to the Rio weekend

Rio – The exhibition “Mundo Zira – Ziraldo Interativo”, which is on display at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB), in the Center, has been extended until May 27th. With free entry, the exhibition pays homage to cartoonist and writer Ziraldo, creator of the character ‘O Menino Maluquinho’, who passed away on April 6, aged 91.

The exhibition, opened in March, can be visited from Wednesday to Monday, from 9am to 8pm. Tickets can be booked on the CCBB website, or collected at the venue’s box office. Every Monday morning, a new batch of entries is released. Children up to 5 years old do not need a ticket.

Ziraldo, who had over 110 million copies of ‘Menino Maluquinho’ sold, wrote dozens of other books, such as “Turma do Pererê”, winning over readers of five generations.

Creator of the newspaper “O Pasquim”, which marked the period of the Military Dictatorship, he was also the author of hundreds of posters for films, plays and events.

Ziraldo’s daughter and artistic curator at the Institute, Daniela Thomas, talks about the importance of the exhibition. “I think that our life, within this universe linked to games, to screens, has been making people, especially children, feel the need for this engagement in order to have a relationship. It’s as if pure vision no longer copes with the anxiety about the aesthetic experience of a work.”
