Belo Horizonte expands the number of people who can receive the dengue vaccine starting this Monday (1st). Now, the list of audiences includes indigenous people, truck drivers, prisoners, health workers, elderly people aged 60 and over and other audiences (Check below if you can now be immunized against the flu).

Until then, immunization was restricted to children under 6 years of age, pregnant women, women who have recently given birth and elderly people over 80 years of age.

The doses are applied in the 152 health centers and also at an extra point at the Integrated Health Clinic of the UniBH University Center (Avenida Professor Mário Werneck, 1.685 — Buritis). The Department of Health is using the doses in stock and is awaiting the shipment of more vaccines. So far, more than 21 thousand doses have been administered.

Who can get vaccinated against the flu in BH?

  • With the expansion of flu vaccination in Belo Horizonte, these are the people who can receive the dose of the vaccine from Monday (1st):
  • Children aged 6 months to under 6 years (5 years, 11 months and 29 days);
  • Health Workers;
  • Pregnant women;
  • Postpartum women (up to 45 days after giving birth);
  • Teachers of basic and higher education;
  • Indian people;
  • Elderly people aged 60 and over;
  • Homeless people;
  • Security and rescue forces professionals;
  • Armed Forces professionals;
  • People with chronic non-communicable diseases and other special clinical conditions (regardless of age);
  • People with permanent disabilities;
  • Truck drivers;
  • Public road transport workers (urban and long-distance);
  • Port workers;
  • Employees of the deprivation of liberty system;
  • Population deprived of liberty, in addition to adolescents and young people under socio-educational measures (between 12 and 21 years old).

How to receive the flu vaccine in BH?

Flu vaccination in Belo Horizonte takes place from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, in all 152 health centers in the capital of Minas Gerais. To check the address of the units and find which one is closest to you, click here and access the PBH website.

To be vaccinated, you must present an identification document with a photo, CPF, in addition to your vaccination card, for proper registration. For some audiences, it will be necessary to present proof of the role performed, in the case of professionals, or a medical report proving the health condition.
