‘Civil War’ surpasses US$70 MILLION at the global box office; Brazil is highlighted!

The dystopian’Civil war‘ surpassed the US$70 million mark worldwide in just two weeks.

The film of Alex Garlandstarring Kirsten Dunst as a photojournalist traversing a violently divided United States, it grossed $45.7 million in North America and $20 million internationally.

Global ticket sales are at US$67.3 million as of Monday, and are projected to exceed US$70 million this Tuesday.

Civil war‘ is A24’s first film to top the domestic box office and has impressively remained the No. 1 film for two weekends in a row.

Over the weekend, the film opened at number one in several cinema markets, such as Brazil ($1.2 million), Spain ($573,659), Belgium ($205,253), Finland ($180,435) and Portugal ($126,129).

With an estimated production budget of US$50 millionCivil war‘ is also the most expensive film in the production company’s history.
