Ex-Globo Christiane Pelajo is announced as anchor of new Brazilian broadcaster

The journalist Christiane Pelajo, 53 years old, was announced this Tuesday, 2, as anchor of CNBC Brasil. The broadcaster is the national version of NBC and will arrive in the country in the coming months.

“I’m honored and excited to be an anchor at CNBC in Brazil. I’m immersed in the universe of business, innovation, technology and creativity. This new challenge has total synergy with the work I’ve been doing over the last two years. Let’s move with business journalism here in Brazil (…) It’s going to be historic and I can’t wait to say ‘Good evening’ again, on air!”, wrote Christiane Pelajo, in a post on Instagram.

Christiane Pelajo will present one of the main news programs in prime time. The announcement of the journalist as the broadcaster’s talent was celebrated by the channel’s president, Douglas Tavolaro, former partner at CNN Brasil and former director of journalism at Record TV.

“Our first video name could not fail to be a woman who so well represents the strength, talent and intelligence of Brazilian journalism. Her knowledge in the business world, added to the news structure of CNBC Times Brasil, will contribute to quality of information in the country and present an innovative television journalism project”, stated the executive.

One of the main open channels in the United States, according to KC Sullivan, president of CNBC, the Brazilian version will have journalism as its flagship, but the schedule will also have attractions on politics, sports, behavior, entertainment and reality shows.

Christiane Pelajo terminated the contract with Globewhere she worked for 26 years, in December 2022. to dedicate herself to business journalism and became a TedX Speaker as one of the most reputable speakers in the country.
