Woman calls Alec Baldwin a ‘damn criminal’, cites death on set, and actor hits cell phone; watch

Alec Baldwin went viral on social media after being approached by a woman, who was protesting against Israel, in a coffee shop in New York, United States. In the video, the actor appears visibly uncomfortable while the protester asks him to say “Free Palestine”. She also mentions the accidental shooting that killed Halyna Hutchins, on the set of “Rust”, in 2021.

The recording, which appeared on Monday night (22), shows Baldwin on the phone while trying to complete his order. “Alec, please say ‘Free Palestine’ once“, asks the protester. Then, she asks why the actor wasn’t arrested for the photography director’s death.

“Why did you kill that lady and still haven’t been arrested? You’re putting innocent people in prison, Alec Baldwin. Free Palestine“, shouts the protester, who is soon interfered by one of the establishment’s employees.

Baldwin, in turn, puts away his cell phone and heads towards the entrance of the coffee shop. “Free Palestine, Alec, just once, and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll leave you alone, I swear“, continues the woman. It is still possible to see the 66-year-old actor asking local workers to call the police and stating that he was being harassed by the protester. He also insists that the woman leave the establishment.

“You know he’s a damn criminal“, responds the protester. “Come on, Alec. Just say ‘Free Palestine’ once. A time. Only once. Please and I’ll leave you alone. Fuck Israel. Fuck Zionism“, she continues, referring to the political movement that defends the right to Jewish self-determination and the creation of a Jewish state in Israel.

The end of the video also reveals Alec asking one of the employees for a favor and abruptly taking the cell phone out of the protester’s hand. The record was shared by the protester herself on X, formerly Twitter. “White devil Alec Baldwin attacked me while I was trying to buy coffee“, she wrote. Remember the case

In the video, the protester mentions the death of Halyna Hutchins, on October 21, 2021, by an accidental shooting on the set of “Rust”, in New Mexico, United States. During a rehearsal, Baldwin, the film’s protagonist, had a gun in his hand and fired a shot. Contrary to what was expected, the weapon was not scenographic, and the shot went through the professional’s chest and even hit director Joel Souza’s shoulder.

Hutchins was taken by helicopter to the University of New Mexico hospital in Albuquerque, but she succumbed to her injuries and died. Souza, in turn, was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center, where he remained only to receive treatment. He survived.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was responsible for looking after and supplying the film’s weapons, was convicted of manslaughter in March of this year. Now, she awaits the sentence, which could be up to 18 months in prison. Despite being found guilty of Halyna’s unintentional death, the armorer was acquitted of the charge of tampering with evidence at the crime scene.

The jury also concluded that Gutierrez-Reed acted negligently behind the scenes of “Rust”, by not taking the necessary precautions to check the storage of weapons and ammunition. The revolver that killed the director of photography was loaded with real cartridges instead of scenographic ones.

At the start of the trial, Baldwin was also charged with manslaughter, but the charges against him were dropped last year. At the time, the actor declared that he had not pulled the trigger on the gun that shot Halyna. However, a decision taken by the jury in January this year highlighted that new evidence had emerged in the case and, therefore, it should be tried again in July.
