Oruam asks for the freedom of his father, Marcinho VP, leader of Comando Vermelho

The singer Oruam once again asked for the freedom of his father, Marcinho VP, the main name of Comando Vermelho, the largest faction in Rio de Janeiro. Through Instagram, this Tuesday (2/4), the trapper posted photos of the criminal in honor of his birthday and asked: “Let go of my old man, judge”.

“Happy Birthday Dad. Anyone who knows you knows the size of your heart, the media will do everything to portray you as a monster, but only those who know you know that your heart is the size of the world”, wrote Oruam.

In another Stories, Oruam posted a photo of his father when he was still young and said: “He was shot in the head, young.”

Trapper Oruam’s participation in Lollapalooza, on the 23rd, caused something to be said on social media. The singer caused a stir after appearing on the show asking for his father’s freedom.

Accused of apologizing for drug trafficking because of the tribute, Oruam justified: “My father was arrested at the age of 20, almost 30 years ago. For more than 15 years he has lived locked in a six-square-meter cell, with two hours of sunbathing a day, when authorized, and without contact with anyone other than the prison guards. My family and I can, when authorized, see him once a month, for a few hours, and through glass, without any physical contact.”

The rapper highlighted that he was unable to live “simple things” with his father due to his arrest. “My life has been like this since I was a child. I don’t even have a photo with my father, and much less did I have the pleasure of enjoying simple things with my father,” he continued.

“Jail should serve to resocialize, not torture. My father made a mistake, but he is paying for his mistakes and in spades. He just wanted him to be able to serve a worthy sentence and leave with his head held high. That when your time comes, you can have your freedom! And may the state really let you come as is right. After all, everyone knows that you have already paid your penalty. Don’t try to take away a person’s right to demand better conditions for their father, nor to want to see him free,” he said.

He concluded the text with a declaration to his father: “I love you, dad. Our family’s biggest dream is to have you with us [sic]. We’re excited for you to see the new future we’re building and show you that everyone deserves a second chance. Stop taking away my right as a son, to love my father and honor him.”
