Marcos Mion loses contract and leaves program command at Globo | Television

-

Presenter Marcos Mion did not renew his contract with TV Globo’s entertainment channel, “Multishow”. As a result, the communicator will no longer be in charge of special editions of the “Rock in Rio” and “Lolapalooza and other TV musicals”. The information was released exclusively by the “LeoDias” portal this Wednesday (27).

According to the website, Grupo Globo’s music channel has not renewed its contract with the presenter and has no plans to offer him any projects on the cable channel. Still according to information from the publication, the matter involving Multishow was not even addressed at the meeting to renew Marcos Mion’s contract with Globo that took place at the end of last year.

Behind the scenes at the channel, it is understood that the end of the partnership between Mion and Multishow happened in a “weird” way. This is because, despite the presenter’s success in presenting editions of music festivals – due to his vast experience in the musical entertainment sector – Globo understood that it was no longer the communicator’s desire to remain in that “role”.

With a busy schedule due to the recordings of “Caldeirão” taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Marcos Mion seems willing to dedicate himself exclusively to his weekly program on Globo. As well remembered by the website, the presenter no longer led this year’s “Lolapalooza” edition. The attraction shown on open TV was anchored by Thiago Oliveira and Kenya Saade.

Marcos Mion’s last project with Multishow took place last year when he led the edition of the musical festival “The Town”. When contacted by the website “LeoDias”, the TV Globo entertainment channel limited itself to saying that Marcos Mion is hired by Globo and therefore “it applies to all the company’s channels and platforms”.

The publication contested the statement stating that, in practice, no artist hired from TV Globo is available to lead projects linked to other channels of the same television group.
