An important change is approaching for Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs) and other business categories in relation to labor obligations. The Labor Electronic Home (DET) must be adopted by everyone by May 1st. The measure aims to speed up communication between labor inspection and companies, simplifying processes and reducing costs.

What is the Labor Electronic Domicile (DET)?

DET is an electronic platform designed to be the official channel of communication between companies and the labor tax audit. Through this system, notices, subpoenas and notifications will be sent completely digitally, eliminating the need for publications in the Official Gazette or communications via mail, generating savings significant for both the government and business entities.

DET for MEI: who is required to register?

Originally established for the first two groups of the eSocial since March 2021the obligation now extends to groups 3 and 4, which include Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs). Domestic employers are also part of this list, and all these categories must carry out registration by the established deadline to avoid penalties.

DET MEI: what are the consequences of not joining?

MEIs that do not comply with the DET registration requirement may face fines ranging between R$208.09 and R$2,080.91. These values ​​represent a considerable part of a micro-entrepreneur’s monthly earnings, highlighting the importance of regularizing the situation as soon as possible.

DET registration: how to do it?

  1. Access the Taxpayer Services Portal, known as e-CAC.
  2. Carefully read the membership terms available in the system.
  3. Confirm your membership by clicking “Request Membership”.

This process not only ensures compliance with new regulations, but also opens doors to more efficient business management prepared for the digital business environment of the future.
