The Legislative Assembly of Paraíba (ALPB) unanimously approved, in this Tuesday’s session (07), PL 1,701/2024, authored by deputy Wilson Filho, which recognizes people with fibromyalgia as people with disabilities within the state. from Paraíba. The PL presented by the parliamentarian also highlights that people with fibromyalgia have access to multidisciplinary health treatment and social programs.

Representative Wilson Filho highlighted that the matter arises from the demands presented by representatives of organized civil society, through debates and public hearings promoted by the ALPB.

“We brought together several institutions and people with this condition to debate in a public hearing. The battles of fibromyalgia are invisible, but the pain is not. People suffer and suffer a lot, and this project aims to offer people with fibromyalgia the same rights and guarantees as people with disabilities”, defended the deputy.

The deputies also approved the donation of an area of ​​the State of Paraíba’s heritage collection to the João Pessoa City Hall and the Paraíba Development Company (CINEP). Deputy Chico Mendes declared that the project focuses on strengthening and developing the local economy, through the generation of jobs and income. According to him, part of the land donated to CINEP will be used for establishing a company, while in the other part of the area, PMJP will build schools, strengthening municipal education. “So, I think the Assembly is congratulated and the winner was CINEP and the society of Paraíba, which will receive this education center”, stated Chico Mendes.

The ALPB also approved PL 1,322/2023, authored by state deputy Cida Ramos, which aims to democratize access to private events in the state. The objective is to ensure that consumers can purchase tickets at physical points of sale, avoiding additional costs that often occur with online sales. The project also aims to curb frequent fraud in online sales

“The measure also aims to prevent fraud, given the high incidence of scams in online ticket sales, harming thousands of people in our country,” he said. Cida Ramos finally noted that online sales should remain an option, but not be the only alternative available.
