Renault returns to competitiveness with Kardian

-

The Renault Kardian is now available on the Renault Network in Brazil, the country chosen by the French group as the launch platform for the SUV for Latin America and other emerging markets. The Cars and Motorcycles Blog tested the Kardian in the city of Gramado, traveling on local routes in Serra Gaúcha and sections of BR-116. The diversity of scenarios ranged from the high-density and aggressive traffic of Gramado to the bucolic environment of Linha Bela, passing through narrow paths among dense vegetation on the outskirts of the city. Surprisingly, even on dirt roads, the asphalt in good condition provided an unexpected experience. The city, focused on tourism, quickly improved its roads, such as the long and winding path to Linha Bonita, which was paved after the installation of “Parque dos Olivais”, a tourist complex dedicated to planting olive trees and selling olive oil, with attached restaurant.

At the end of a day dedicated to the evaluation by the Cars and Motorcycles Blog, the result was tremendously positive for Kardian, which demonstrated in practice the value of a formal and technologically innovative proposal. During the test ride at legal speed on the challenging “Linha Bonita” circuit, the Kardian maintained the dynamic balance that enchants from the first kilometers.

Renault do Brasil’s engineering director, Antonio Fleischmann, emphasized that the Kardian’s dynamic balance and superior handling are the result of the modular platform, capable of adapting to vehicles between 2 and 4 meters in length, avoiding improvisations that could harm the stability.

In addition, Fleischmann highlighted Kardian’s advanced safety systems, such as Adaptive Cruise Control, four-wheel disc brakes, automatic emergency braking, electronic stability program, traction control, adaptive driving modes and point warning sensors. blind, in addition to the steel body with different densities, resulting in five stars in impact tests.

With more than 200 kilometers covered on different types of terrain, the Kardian demonstrated excellent performance and comfort, preserving the mind and body of the driver and passengers. The internal ergonomics also stand out, with materials of greater refinement and comfort in the seats, panels and driver’s digital cluster, combined with an 8-inch multimedia center with wireless connection for Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

With its well-proportioned dimensions, the Kardian offers comfort for both occupants and luggage, with 410 liters of trunk capacity. Equipped with a three-cylinder TCE engine, the Kardian has power and torque suitable for agile and safe urban use on roads, combined with an automatic dual-clutch transmission that provides quick and precise engagement.

In short, Renault’s Kardian demonstrates competitiveness in relation to its competitors, surpassing many of them, such as some Chinese SUVs, positioning itself as an attractive option on the market.
