The Israeli Army admitted on Tuesday a “serious error” in the bombing that killed, on Monday, seven volunteers from the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK), created by Spanish chef José Andrés.

Several countries and organizations, including the UN, which cited “contempt for international humanitarian law”, condemned the attack, the most serious against aid workers since the start of the conflict.

More than 32,900 people, most of them civilians, have died in Israeli operations since the start of the war, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, governed by Hamas since 2007.

The war began on October 7, when Islamist militiamen from Gaza murdered 1,160 people, most of them civilians, in southern Israel, according to a report based on data released by Israeli authorities.

The Gaza Strip, the scene of an air and land offensive and which faces a severe Israeli blockade, is experiencing a serious humanitarian situation, with its 2.4 million inhabitants at risk of starvation, according to the UN.

Hamas militiamen also kidnapped more than 250 people. Nearly 130 remain in Gaza, including 34 who were reportedly killed, according to Israel.
