The soap opera In Rancho Fundofrom TV Globo, reproduced a controversial speech by the former president Jair Bolsonaro during a scene shown this week. At the time, the character Sabá Bodó (Welder Rodrigues)said one of the politician’s phrases when faced with a request for help from Juquinha (Tomás de França).

Sabá Bodó, who was also in Sertão Sea (2022)returned in No Rancho Fundo as mayor of the fictional Lapão da Beirada. In the scene in question, Juquinha asked: “I came to ask permission for my late Uncle Tenório to enter”he said, referring to a scarecrow that had been on the Leonel plantations for years.

That said, Welder’s character responded: “And? I’m not a gravedigger”said the politician. “It’s to be buried in the backyard”explained the young man. “That it? It is to be buried in Campo Santo, not at home”stated Nivalda (Titina Medeiros).

Juquinha, in turn, commented that would denounce the diversion of meals in the city’s schools if Sabá did not give him authorization. “This is an opposition thing,” downplayed the bad character.

The phrase “I’m not a gravedigger”, was said by Bolsonaro in May 2020, when he was asked by journalists about the number of deaths during the Covid-19 pandemic. At the time, a reporter was interrupted by the politician about the deaths recorded so far. Remember:
