Lima Duarte celebrates 94 years after experiencing recent dramas such as the loss of her daughter and a traffic accident; remember

Born in Desemboque, district of Sacramento, in the interior of Minas Gerais, Lima Duarte went to São Paulo at a young age in search of opportunities. There, he began working on radio and, after working in several roles, became one of the most renowned professionals in the field. When he moved to TV, he was in several productions, including soap operas, where he established himself as an actor and is seen today as one of the main names in television drama. This Friday (29), the veteran turns 94 apparently very well: lucid, working and active on social media. In recent months, however, Lima has experienced drama in her personal life. Remember:

On March 1, 2023, Lima was involved in a traffic accident in the Barra Funda neighborhood, in São Paulo. On that occasion, the 92-year-old artist ran over a motorcyclist, who, due to the collision, fractured five bones and needed to be hospitalized.

In a video published on social media, the driver reported that her motorcycle’s handlebars got stuck in the rear-view mirror of Lima Duarte’s car after the actor overtook. Lima always emphasized that he provided assistance to the victim at the scene.

A year after the incident, after a thorough investigation, the Court cleared Lima of any responsibility for the accident. At the time, Lima paid R$30,000 via PIX to the affected motorcyclist, sent flowers to her at the hospital and signed an “agreement” with the patient, who was 37 years old at the time.

Lima Duarte lost her 49-year-old daughter

In February this year, Lima suffered the death of his daughter, Julia Martins, at 49 years old. She had been admitted to Hospital São Camilo, in São Paulo, where she was admitted. The cause of death, however, was not reported.

Lima mourned her loss using a photo with the heiress on Instagram. “When everyone I know is gone, what will be left? Empty. Silence. Yes, the rest is silence.”, wrote the artist at the time, quoting Hamlet, by William Shakespeare.

Bucolic life

For years, Lima has lived on his farm in Indaiatuba, in the interior of São Paulo, from where he constantly posts videos, shared with his more than 700 thousand followers on Instagram. He also frequently travels to meet friends. In one of the most recent, he revisited the house where he lived at one stage of his life, in Ribeirão Preto, also in the interior of São Paulo.
