Selena Gomez suffers in silence after her grandmother’s death

-

While stepping away from social media last month, Selena Gomez I was dealing with a family problem. His paternal grandmother was not in good health and she died two weeks ago. Mary Gomez, was the mother of the singer’s father, Rick Gomezand the actress and singer was also quite close to them.

Rick took to Instagram on November 15th to mourn his sad loss. He shared several photos with his mom and dad, including one of Selena with her Mexican grandparents.

“Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of earthly life, in particular for the life of my mother. Thank you for all the years I spent with her. I praise you for being with me through thick and thin. I cherish the memories of moments of joy and moments of sadness. As she now rests with you, I thank you for the hope of a future in your presence that we will share together. Now you, the Lord of Peace, give me peace at all times and in all ways. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.”

In the comments section, Rick received condolences from friends, family and Selena’s own fans. Some of them questioned why the singer didn’t comment on social media that she had lost her grandmother, and how close they were.

In September last year, Selena Gomez’s paternal grandparents celebrated 50 years of marriage. The family did not provide further details about the cause of death.

A follower of Rick commented on the post, where he shared a photo of his parents’ celebration, saying:

“Just watched @selenagomez’s story on YouTube about her grandparents coming to America, so inspiring and I’m so happy she continues to share her Latin side with the world. There aren’t many Mexican women in the industry that I can look up to and I remember being so happy when I found out Selena was Mexican❤️.”
