The ports of Xbox games to PlayStation consoles brought positive results for Microsoft. Satisfied with the process, the manufacturer’s management feels “encouraged” to make future decisions about the multiplatform approach.

In a recent conversation with Bloomberg, Sarah Bond, leader of Xbox, commented that she will analyze each case from now on. Without committing to franchises or future competitive releases, she just revealed that there was a good reception overall.
“We are in the early days. I don’t have anything specific to share yet, but we are very encouraged by the reception of our games”, commented Bond (via Eurogamer).
One thing that I think is important to take into account. Xbox has been putting games on other platforms for a long time. Minecraft is universally available. The Bethesda and Activision Blizzard King teams have games on other platforms.
It’s a decision we make game by game before moving forward and continuing to execute our strategy.
Sea of Thieves is the positive highlight for Microsoft
Much of this satisfaction was due to the release of Sea of Thieves. Microsoft saw the Rare title not only sustain the highest part of the PS5 pre-sales ranking, but also end the month of April as the best-selling game in Europe.
