Game Pass will debut all Activision games

After the closure of four Bethesda studios, Microsoft Gaming found itself once again at the center of enormous speculation about its vision for its future in the video game industry. Comments quickly emerged that internally, executives are considering changes, including not debuting all games on their subscription service.

Sarah Bond, the current leader of Microsoft’s Xbox division, was interviewed at Bloomberg’s most recent technology summit, where she assured that Game Pass will continue to receive all of the company’s games on launch day, including Activision Blizzard games.

Asked if releasing games on other consoles doesn’t send the message to fans that Xbox is moving away from its own hardware, Bond replied that they recently confirmed that they are building a new console, which will have the biggest leap in power between console generations, said of his message as president of Xbox for easy access to games from different generations, the possibility of playing games even away from home (either with cross-play or the cloud), and finally Game Pass, one of the most important facets of the brand.

According to Bond, Game Pass is a subscription service that allows access to a large catalog of games, but with one very important factor: “you have all the games we built on launch day on Game Pass.”

Asked if this includes Activison Blizzard games, Bond replied “from the whole company, from the whole company, you’re going to see really spectacular things. And keeping that as something that’s really special to Xbox gamers is really important to us.”
