From Friday (29), Twitch will no longer allow broadcasts that focus on private parts for long periods. The new rule was published in the platform’s Community Guidelines this Wednesday (27).
The change would likely be a direct response to the new “trend” of content creators using body parts as chroma key (green screen) and displaying content in the area. The streamer Morgpieknown for exploiting loopholes in the platform’s rules, popularized the exhibition strategy by placing Fortnite gameplay on their own glutes.
“From Friday, March 29th, content that focuses on intimate parts of the body for a prolonged period will no longer be allowed,” explained Twitch in a post on X, formerly Twitter. However, the platform does not specify what “extended periods” would be.
Now prohibited by platform guidelines, Focusing on private parts for too long in Twitch streams can result in an account banas well as other practices related to nudity.
Twitch against live nudity
Twitch’s fight against broadcasts that abuse nudity is constant and has lasted for years. The dispute became even more intense in December 2023, when the service changed the rules and decided to allow illustrations of nipples and erotic dances in live broadcasts.
However, after great commotion in the community, the platform reversed the decision and again restricted lives with clearly sexualized content. In January, Twitch banned implicit nudity, when the content creator uses black stripes or other devices to cover private parts.
The new rule announced this Wednesday (27) is yet another of the platform’s attempts to curb this type of content, but it will probably not be enough to stop the practice.
Currently, the Community Guidelines present a very robust set of rules regarding nudity, including rules on clothing (specifically, cleavage) and graphic descriptions of sexual acts.
