Omoda, a Chinese brand that belongs to Chery, has just launched a new model in China. It is a Medium SUV with similar size to the BYD Song Plus called 7. According to findings from the Autosportthe car could arrive in Brazil in the coming years – maybe even as early as 2025. Interestingly, the launch took place at the company’s headquarters, in Wuhu, this Sunday (28). That is, outside (and after) the Beijing Motor Show.

The brand has not yet revealed all the details about the mechanics, but it did disclose that the Omoda 7 will have 154 hp of power, 22.5 kgfm of torque and DHT type gearbox in the plug-in hybrid version. The SUV can run 95 km only in electric mode and has a declared autonomy of 1,250 km combining combustion and electric engines.

Regarding design, the headlights are narrow and there is an upper LED line at the front. The grille also has illuminated details in the corners. Despite not being a coupe SUV, it has a small drop at the rear.

Inside, the steering wheel has a look inspired by video game controls. Other than that, the multimedia center is 15.6 inches and there is voice control for the main commands. The sound system premium It has 12 speakers.

The dimensions also were not disclosedbut the model will definitely be larger than the Omoda 5. This means that it will be more than 4.40 meters long, 1.83 m wide, 1.58 m high and 2.63 m wheelbase.

It is worth remembering that Omoda and Jaecoo have already confirmed the arrival in Brazil with three other SUVs: Omoda 5, Jaecoo 7 and Jaecoo 8.

Furthermore, executives from both brands confirmed that around 10 cars should be launched in the country by 2026. It is precisely for this reason that we can expect Omoda 7 soon.

Chinese manufacturers, in fact, are even studying reactivating the Caoa Chery factory in Jacareí (SP). Alex Wang, director of the Brazilian operation of the two companies, was emphatic in confirming, although he did not provide further details, that the unit was an option: “We can say it is an option. The first option”.
