A few days after leaving Cruzeiro, Ronaldo’s then technical director of SAF, Paulo Autuori, approaches an agreement with Coritiba. At the end of April, shortly after the 3-1 victory over Vitória at Mineirão, Autuori announced his departure from Cruzeiro due to ‘fidelity to the project’ of Fenômeno and company.

Just like at Raposa, Paulo Autuori will take on the role of technical director at the Coxa Branca club. At the Curitiba club, Autuori meets old professional companions. William Thomas, football executive at Coritiba SAF, worked with Autuori at several clubs such as Internacional, Santos, Athletico Paranaense and even in Colombian football.

Another old acquaintance is technical assistant James Freitas, who took over technical command of the team after Guto Ferreira was fired. The coach left the team after the 1-0 defeat to Sport in the third round of Series B.

For Cruzeiro, Autuori has directly participated in the work of the technical committee since August 2023. In the final phase of the last Brasileirão, Autuori was the interim coach of the celestial club in the last six matches. The coach left the command undefeated and helped the team avoid the risk of relegation to the second division.
