Three-time Formula 1 world champion, driver Max Verstappen donated an autographed RBR shirt to “Bazaar For Good”, this Wednesday (8). The institution promotes auctions and will donate part of the proceeds to Rio Grande do Sul, which is suffering from the heavy rains that hit the state.

The event takes place in Miami, the location of the last Formula 1 race. The objective is to raise, in total, 500 thousand dollars in auctions of rare and exclusive pieces for donations.

On the tracks, the Miami GP was one of the few stages this season that did not have Max Verstappen in first place. He came second in the race, which saw an unprecedented victory for Lando Norris, from McLaren.

Tragic situation in Rio Grande do Sul

The Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul updated the number of deaths to 100 due to the storms hitting the state. This Wednesday, the bulletin released indicates that there are four other deaths under investigation. There are 128 missing and 372 injured.

There are 203.8 thousand people away from home. Of this total, 48.1 thousand are in shelters and 155.7 thousand are homeless (people staying with family or friends). In total, 388 of its 497 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul reported some problem related to the storm, with 1.3 million people affected.
