Santos reached an agreement with Argentinos Jrs., on Tuesday night (7), and is not at risk of being punished with a new FIFA transfer ban. According to what was determined by the Trivela with representatives of the Argentine club, Peixe will settle the financial pending for the acquisition of midfielder Gabriel Carabajalmade in 2022, in installments.

The agreement between the clubs aims to pay approximately US$600,000 (just over R$3 million at today’s exchange rate), which Santos still owed for having bought the 33-year-old player, who is on loan at Puebla, in Mexico. .

Without seeing the debt honored, Argentinos Jrs. filed a lawsuit with FIFA. Last week, the entity that controls world football informed Santos about the sentence and set a deadline of 45 days for Santos to reach an agreement, which was signed this evening.

Due to the non-payment, Malaspina made it clear to Trivela that he regretted having done business with the two Brazilian clubs.

— I totally regret having sold players to Santos and Corinthians. They did not fulfill the agreements. That’s why they are in these situations — he added, referring to the actions at FIFA and the risk of receiving punishments from the entity.

Is Santos already free from another transfer ban?

From now on, Santos and Argentinos Jrs. they will exchange signed documents, with duly detailed conditions. They will later be sent to FIFA, which will put an end to any possibility of Peixe not being able to operate in the market and register new players.
