Pedro Scooby comments on the scenario seen in floods in RS: “Total tragedy” | LOL

Pedro Scooby is one of the leaders of the group of giant wave surfers who traveled to Rio Grande do Sul to help rescue people affected by floods in the state. The big rider arrived in Porto Alegre on Monday with names like Lucas Chumbo, Ian Cossenza, Felipe Cesarano, among others. This Tuesday morning, the surfer spoke about the scenario found in RS.

The surfers brought jet-skis, which they usually use when tow-in, and vests to help people, in addition to contributing supplies to add to the donations that are multiplying in the state to minimize the impact of losses. Since then, Scooby and the others have been rescuing gauchos in the capital and metropolitan region.

In an interview with RBS TV this Tuesday morning, the surfer commented on the scenario he found in Rio Grande do Sul with the floods.

– Terrible, tragic. I just paid a visit with the Fire Department, by helicopter, to see some points that we suddenly weren’t seeing by jet ski. Total tragedy. There are already many jet skis there in Eldorado helping, the entire population helping – highlighted Scooby.

– I don’t know yet (when he will leave). I think that now the rescues are calming down, becoming calmer. I’m going to the water now, I want to help as much as possible. Tomorrow, if the day gets calmer, I want to visit some shelters, everyone we are rescuing is going to shelters. See what they need, if I can help – he added.

Pedro Scooby helps rescue flood victims

The latest bulletin from the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul, this Tuesday, showed 90 deaths confirmed by the storms in the state. In addition, there are 131 missing and 362 injured, and 204,300 people are still out of their homes. Of this total, 48.2 thousand are in shelters and 156 thousand are homeless (people staying with family or friends).
