Frederic Vasseur prefers to focus on work rather than controversies. Last weekend, Toto Wolff (Mercedes) and Zak Brown (McLaren) commented on receiving resumes from Red Bull employees. The Ferrari boss does not want to get involved in this war, but has hinted that he is also recruiting, including people from Mercedes.

After the Formula 1 Miami GP, Vasseur said that, although part of the process is confidential, Ferrari is recruiting new people. “A lot of people from all the teams are doing interviews in Maranello. Including from Mercedes”, stated the Ferrari leader in the paddock.

However, the Frenchman stressed that he does not want to make everything public. “I don’t want to waste energy on the wrong topic, as I think we have a lot to do internally. We need to improve, recruit, develop the car. We have a lot of work ahead of us. I don’t want to waste time and resources fighting with colleagues. That’s not my approach and I’m not going into that field.”

Regarding Wolff and Brown’s comments, Vasser added: “I had the feeling that the hostility was more between Toto and Oliver (Mintzlaff, Red Bull CEO).” Asked about Zak Brown’s role, Vasseur joked that the McLaren CEO would be joining the fight ‘as a free ride’.
