Matheus and Tamires lose in their debut in the Mexico Challenge

This week, another edition of the Badminton Mexico Challenge is taking place in Guadalajara. The only Brazilians in the competition, Matheus Voigt and Tamires Santos competed in the mixed doubles group, but lost to a pair from Canada and stopped in the first round of the competition.

In the first phase of the mixed doubles competition, Matheus Voigt and Tamires Santos faced Canadians Timothy Lock and Chloe Hoang. The North Americans started the match better and won the first game 21 to 14. In the next part, Matheus and Tamires got off to a good start, opening a four-point lead. But the Canadians managed to turn things around, with a run of nine straight points. In the end, Lock and Hoang won the game 21-12 to confirm the 2-0 victory in the game.

With the result of the match, Timothy Lock and Chloe Hoang advance in the Mexican Challenge group, facing a host pair in the round of 16 in Guadalajara. Matheus and Tamires say goodbye to the competition.
