The coach Cuca once again complained about the lack of parts in the cast of Athletico. After the 2-1 comeback defeat to Ypirangafor the Copa do Brasil, the coach, who made five changes in the second half, said he was “being held hostage” by some changes.
“I’m going to go to hell with these kids. If they say ‘That’s it’, I’m going to go with them until the end of the championship. But sometimes we are hostage to making one change or another with our options, due to lack of of players’ characteristics. And that hurts me a lot”, he said.

In the domestic window, Furacão managed to bring Zé Vitor, Gabriel and Nikão. But the club still has a defender and a winger as priorities for July.
Cuca assesses that Athletico got tired at the end, but sees “inadmissible” goals
Cuca also evaluated the result and Athletico’s performance against Ypiranga. According to the coach, the team got tired in the final stretch, mainly due to the marathon of games.
“We really felt the game, we really felt the field, the way it was heavy. We conceded a counterattack goal in the 50th minute of the second half, that’s unacceptable. Firstly, you don’t need to expose yourself up front. Secondly, it’s managing a ground ball. We took an unacceptable counterattack”, he declared.

“There’s nothing to explain. There’s no point coming here and saying different things because the opponent deserved to win, even though we had a chance to make it 2-0. We alternated between good and bad moments. The team got tired in the second half, that’s clear”, concluded Cuca.
Athletico will need to win by two goals or more to advance directly to the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The return match will be on May 22nd, Wednesday, at 8pm, at the Ligga Arena.
Before that, Furacão changes the key and returns to the field against Vasco on Sunday (5), at 4pm, at home, for the fifth round of the Brasileirão. The team is currently fourth, with seven points.
