When she enters the ‘Apex’ to make her way to the Octagon this Saturday (27th), at UFC Vegas 91, Ariane will no longer have the already known Lipski surname on her organization’s tracksuit, but rather the new ‘da Silva’. More than a change of nomenclature, the Brazilian has undergone a personal transformation – which even affected her then nickname in MMA as ‘Queen of Violence’. In an exclusive interview with the Ag Fightthe flyweight (57 kg) from Curitiba explained the importance of religion during this process.

Since migrating to the USA in order to further hone her skills as an athlete, Ariane has been in the process of obtaining a ‘green card’, the country’s permanent visa. Due to bureaucratic processes, the Brazilian has not yet included the surname ‘da Silva’ of her husband and coach Renato in her official documents. But the birth certificate was enough for Ultimate to accept the exchange and motivate the number 12 in the 57 kg ranking to present her ‘new version’ in the Octagon.

“That’s right, Ariane Lipski da Silva. I already had the ‘da Silva’ (after I got married), but I’m in the process – we applied for the ‘green card’. Our lawyer still managed not to change our documents to avoid problems. So it’s on the (marriage) certificate, but it wasn’t in the documents, both in Brazil and here. But I asked the UFC if they accepted the certificate and they did, so ‘da Silva’ worked. It’s my middle name (Lipski), I’m a new person now. A new person with a new name, Lipski da Silva“, revealed the flyweight.
