The exhibition starts today (9) No More Word, the first solo show by artist Murilo Leal, which was selected in the Public Call of the BADESC Cultural Foundation. Ten ceramic sculptures and four wooden objects are part of the exhibition, which is at Espaço Paulo Gaiad. Curated by Marcello Carpes, the exhibition runs until June 26th. The American band The Calling, performs tomorrow (10), at Music Park. Known for the hit ‘Wherever Will You Go’ (2001), the group was a constant presence on radio and MTV in the early 2000s and will present a repertoire that clearly highlights the career that began in 1996, with songs that marked a huge generation of fans all over the world. Gold Record in the United States and Platinum Record in Brazil, thanks to the aforementioned single, Teh Calling sold 5 million copies of the album worldwide. This weekend, the 10th and 11th, the FRANKENSTEIN rock opera, by composer Alberto Heller, returns to the CIC stage with the Camerata Florianópolis in symphonic formation. With a libretto adapted from the work of the same name by Mary Shelley (a book that celebrated two hundred years since its publication in 2018, the same year in which the show premiered), FRANKENSTEIN sets out to rescue the tragic and existential dimension of the original – thus distancing itself from the film adaptations. O Bertol Barone of the highlights of Via Gastronômica de Coqueiros, celebrates two years of success and production of its craft beer, this Saturday (11), with musical performances. Igor Rafael One Man Band It is Joe Love and Red Wings will provide the soundtrack for the special date. The place is also a donation collection point to help people affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. The place receives water and packaged food, such as cookies, cereal bars, bread, canned goods, pet food, clothes in good condition, as well as hygiene and cleaning products. The exhibition ends on the 17th Time flies and those who don’t fly with it are late, by artist Lucas Speranza, Cenora, in Joaçaba. Items from everyday life in the interior and their universality make up the works and spaces of the exhibition which, after leaving Rogério Sganzerla’s Casa de Cultura, in the city where it is located, will circulate through Criciúma, Itajaí and Lages, always with a conversation between the artist and public. HOW COOL

Espaço Transformando, in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood, in Florianópolis, receives the second stage of the project Playing with Theater and Music. Approved by the Paulo Gustavo Law of Santa Catarina, this Saturday (11) the project will promote the artistic and creative development of children aged 8 to 11. Registration is open via the link.

The exhibition continues until June 3 Uncanny Valley by João Salem, at Galeria Itaguaçu + Arte, at Shopping Itaguaçu. Resin, silicone, wood, fabric and metal, the artist works with around 80% recycled and reused material. The experience causes a unique emotional response in spectators, by showing human figures and their representations in historical moments. Entry is free.

PROGRAM YOURSELF

Registration is open for the Floripa Tap 2024, which will have an open stage in Beira-mar Norte and an extensive program, from May 29th to June 2nd, in the capital of Santa Catarina. Includes three shows at CIC, dance workshops at Garagem da Dança and Centro Cultural Veras, as well as performances at Bugio Trindade.

Schedule

This is the 13th edition that will have free programming that is even broader and more accessible to the public and with open registration for 60 courses and workshops. In addition, the event will bring four international tap dancers who are references in the world of tap. Information and registration on the website. In the photo is Josette Wiggan, tap dancer, choreographer and Jazz Dance virtuoso, who is coming to Brazil for the first time and will be a prominent presence at the festival.

O Winter Play, one of the biggest electronic parties in the South of Brazil, reaches its 20th edition in 2024 and highlights five special parties to celebrate the 20 years of history of the brand that placed Jurerê Internacional also on the route of winter destinations as the first major luxury event of Florianópolis. This year, it takes place between May 30th and June 2nd, in the middle of the Corpus Christi holiday, and brings with it a super novelty: from 2025, the Winter Play will become itinerant.
