Well, today, Friday, I woke up early and went to see in person the works and the damage that all this is causing. I was perplexed by the lack of care, the disregard, the disrespect for a historic place for the city and for all São Paulo residents. This company placed all the chemical bathrooms in front of the entrance to the museum, which today receives approximately 50 people. It’s an absurd.
I talked to people at the museum and the sports store on site. There were several buses from schools and excursions from all over to delight in the history of our football. But today, because of the negligence of the Allegra company, it no longer has an attractive entrance.
I went to the store and bought two retro shirts. One from Flamengo and another from Vasco from 1973, number 10. I took the opportunity and asked how much the works are negatively affecting the store. Guys, what the people at the store told me is desperate. The number of customers and interest has dropped too much to at least come in to see these beautiful old shirts.
Praça Charles Miller, which is a postcard of the city, with the architecture of the Pacaembu stadium entrance in the background, became a place of destruction rather than construction. The beautiful grass around the square, where when I was a teenager my friends sat there admiring the beauty of the stadium lit up at night, turned into a thicket. The bush is very tall, ugly and looks more like a wasteland than the beautiful square it always was.
The traditional market is there boxed in by rubble, chemical toilets, wooden offices. In short, the company has no concern whatsoever, with no emotional connection with this symbol of our city. Everything is late and in desperation to show some results and also want to throw it in the faces of critics, like me, that everything is progressing.
