Serie B club closes attack with Corinthians’ two top scorers in the 21st Century

This Thursday, Amazonas, which competes in Series B of the Brazilian Championship, announced the signing of Dentinho, 35 years old. Formed at Timão’s academy and without a club since he left Ceará in 2022, the striker is back to football.

Interestingly, the club from the north of the country now has Corinthians’ two top scorers this century. Dentinho will meet Jô, another old acquaintance of Corinthians fans, hired at the beginning of the season after giving up on retirement.

The center forward is Timão’s top scorer in the 21st century with 65 goals in 284 games, while the new Amazonas reinforcement scored 55 goals – see list below.

Dentinho made his debut for the east side club in 2007, against Palmeiras when he was still 18 years old. Won the Series B title in 2008 and He formed a prominent attacking duo alongside Ronaldo Fenômeno, winning the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil in 2009.

For Timão, the striker participated in 187 games and scored 55 goals. He was sold in 2011 to Shakhtar Donetsk, from Ukraine, for 6 million euros and had spells in Beşiktaş and Ceará, before signing with Amazonas until the end of 2024.
