Part of Corinthians’ debt of almost R$900 million is related to loans with banks and a football businessman. The club’s 2023 balance sheet shows that, until December 31st, the club owed R$96.2 million.

This value is practically the same as the 2022 balance sheet, which showed a debt of R$97 million arising from these loans from banks and entrepreneurs – in 2021, the value was higher (R$116.6 million).

The amount of R$96.2 million refers to debts contracted through loans with financial institutions BMG, Bradesco, Daycoval and Santander. And three other athlete managers: Giuliano Bertolucci, André Cury and Fernando Garcia.

Garcia’s name did not appear in the 2022 balance sheet. GEDuilio Monteiro Alves explained that the loan taken out of R$10.9 million was to advance the amount receivable from Zenit for the sale of Pedro to the Russian club.

Two other interesting facts about these debts with banks and football agents: the end of the pending amount of R$300,000 with Denis Maldelbaum, which had been on the balance sheet for five years, and the zero amount with Carlos Leite, which was R$2.7 million at the end of 2022.

It is worth remembering that, recently, Carlos Leite filed several lawsuits in court, through some of his companies, asking for around R$60 million. The amount is related to transfer commissions and image rights of its agents.

Carlos Leite manages Cássio, Fagner, among others. While Giuliano Bertolucci, alongside some partners, was linked to Léo Santos and Ramiro, former Corinthians, and Vítor Pereira. Cury, in turn, is responsible for the careers of Yuri Alberto and former black and white players Otero and Cazares.
