The lifter Macris Carneiro, 35 years old, will be back in Brazil for the 2024/2025 volleyball season. The player has an agreement to defend Praia Clube, from Uberlândia. In an interview with Itatiaiathe player revealed the reasons that made her return to Brazil after two seasons in Türkiye.
“I felt it was time to return home. Mainly because of the moment I was living with my physical condition. Really trying to establish myself, all the ways to strengthen myself and recover physically in relation to my spinal injury. That was the best moment, I was happy to be able to come back,” she revealed.
Multi-champion for Minas, the experienced setter for the Brazilian team ended her cycle at THY Spor, in Turkey, at the end of the season. Before playing for THY, a club coached by José Roberto Guimarãescoach of the Brazilian National Team, she played for Fenerbahçe, also from Türkiye.
Macris spoke about expectations for the new cycle. The setter arrives to replace Claudinha, former captain who decided to give a career break.
“I really think it will be a new opportunity, a new challenge. I had many years in Minas, I was very happy there. Now comes a new challenge, I will continue to give myself wholeheartedly, continue seeking to evolve and I hope to contribute to the people around me”, he added.
Macris will meet again, at Praia Clube, a former teammate from Minas. Central Carol Gattaz, 42 years old, will defend the colors of the Aurinegro club next season. She commented on expectations at the new club.
“It’s something I’ve always looked for as an athlete. Growth, evolution, I’ve always liked being in championship finals. I train, I try hard, I do all the preparation for it. This has always moved me a lot, it’s a quest I have and I’m happy to get back to that level”, he added.
