Brea belongs to Deportivo and is on loan to Arenteiro. Thus, a clause states that it cannot be used against the team that owns its rights – unless Arenteiro pays a fine, which the team would not be able to afford at this time. It is in this scenario that the club is looking for options to have at least one goalkeeper available for the match, with the possibility of counting on Diego Rivas, 37, appearing.

Rivas retired at the end of last season and became goalkeeping coach at Arenteiro. Therefore, he became a viable option to be registered and reinforce the squad, preventing the club from paying the fine to its rival.

– It’s a limit situation, in which the club asked me to take a step forward. We try to find alternatives on the market, but the conditions are not simple – Rivas said on the radio station “Cadena SER”.

The goalkeeper trainer also indicated that the club contacted six or seven players, but did not make any progress on the agreement with any of them. So, faced with the chance of having to improvise an athlete from another position in goal, Rivas will take on the challenge.
