Santos is the target of criticism after announcing the return of a coach accused of harassment – Prisma

Santos announced, this Tuesday (2), the signing of Kleiton Lima. The coach returns to the club after the dismissal of coach Bruno Silva last Monday (1st). The performance of Sereias da Vila at the start of the Brazilian Women’s Championship motivated the change, as the team is in 12th place in the championship, with just one win, one draw and two defeats.

Santos’ decision, however, caused outrage among a large part of the fans on social media. This is because Kleiton left the team in September last year following anonymous complaints of moral and sexual harassment by the players.

In the official publication of Sereias da Vila on Twitter, in which they confirmed the coach’s return, fans — even rivals — invaded with messages rejecting the announcement.

“You guys are a joke! The women’s team bringing back a harasser. Disgusting!” one person posted. “I’m not even a Santos fan and I’m completely embarrassed to see that harassers still have so much space in Santos. A lot of strength for Santos fans, fans and players, these are nebulous times,” wrote another. “There was a complaint. They wrote letters. Bringing him back is demonstrating that they don’t care about the club’s athletes and fans. Disappointing”, criticized another.

Kleiton’s first appointment in this third spell at the club will take place on April 12th. On that occasion, the Sereias da Vila will face Corinthians, in the classic valid for the Brazilian Championship.
