Google announced a program to accelerate the development of applications with artificial intelligence (AI) in companies in Brazil. Known as AI Academy, the Google for Startups initiative was revealed this Monday (29) and brings companies meetings focused on cloud computing and topics such as machine learning, security and much more. In total, ten Brazilian startups will be accelerated in the first edition of the program.
Google promotes 1st edition of AI Academy
AI Academy is part of Google for Startups, an arm of Gigante das Buscas to help companies in formation, and has its first edition in Brazil. This time, the new project program aims to promote the development of applications that use AI and innovation in the Brazilian market.
In total, the selected startups will go through a 10-month process, during which time tools and mentoring will be offered especially for each type of business. In the first edition, these meetings will be held from April 23rd to June 25th in a hybrid format to guarantee flexibility for participants.
During the period, startups will participate in trails on app modernization, security, AI and machine learning. The company will also present Google Cloud, the company’s cloud solution that also runs artificial intelligence applications.
“The AI Academy will play an important role in helping to equip Brazilian startups with tools and knowledge that enhance their solutions according to the needs of each startup, promoting innovation and competitiveness on the global stage”, said the Head of Google for Startups to Latin America, André Barrence.

According to Google, ten Brazilian startups were selected for the first edition. Check out the list:

- Beep Saúde (SP);
- Biti9 (RJ);
- Creators (SP);
- Easy B2B (SP);
- Merama (SP):;
- Nama (MG);
- Rocketmat (SP);
- Taxed (AP);
- Twiggy (SP).
In addition to the acceleration, Google opened registrations for Immersion AI, a course made in partnership with Alura to assist beginners and experienced developers in using Gemini and AI Studio. The selection process is open until May 5th.
