The group stage of the 2024 Copa Sudamericana begins this Tuesday, with five games. The first round will be completed on Wednesday and Thursday, with another 11 matches.

Athletico debuts in the South American against Sportivo Ameliano

Internacional will be the first Brazilian to enter the field and will face Belgrano, at 7pm (Brasília time), in Argentina. Later, at 9:30 pm, Corinthians takes on Racing-URU, in Uruguay, while Athletico visits Sportivo Ameliano, in Paraguay.

Wednesday will see the debuts of three more Brazilian teams. Cuiabá takes on Lanús-ARG, at 7pm (Brasília time), at Arena Pantanal. At 9pm, Bragantino hosts Coquimbo Unidos-CHI, at Nabi Abi Chedid. At the same time, Fortaleza visits Sportivo Trinidense, in Paraguay.

Thursday will be marked by Cruzeiro’s game, at 9pm (Brasília time), against Universidad Católica-EQU, at the Atahualpa Olympic stadium, in Ecuador.

The top two from each group advance. The knockout stage draw is scheduled for the beginning of June. The competition will be paused due to the Copa América. Therefore, the playoffs (second-placed teams x third-placed teams in the Libertadores) will take place between the 15th and 25th of July. The round of 16 will be played between August 13th and 22nd. Wednesdays from September 17th to 26th. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place from October 23rd to 30th.

The 2024 South American final is scheduled for November 23rd, but at a location not yet defined by Conmebol. This format, with a single game decision, began in 2019.
