Days after knockout Vicente Luque in the co-main fight of UFC Atlantic City, last Saturday (30) and secure his place in the welterweight rankings (up to 77.1 kg), Joaquin Buckley he already feels ready for bigger flights and has the next ideal opponent in mind: the Brazilian Gilbert Durinho.

During a recent appearance on the podcast ‘MMA Hour’, on the North American website ‘MMA Fighting’, Buckley expressed his interest in facing Durinho and justified it by pointing to his history against Kill Cliff FC, the academy of which the Brazilian is a member.

“I love the idea of ​​facing Gilbert Burns. We are currently 3-1 against Kill Cliff FC. The first guy to beat me on that team was Logan Storley at Belltor. He held me for 15 minutes. After that, I knocked out Impa Kasanganay, André Fialho and now their boy Vicente”, he pointed out.

Undefeated since moving down to welterweight last year, with three wins in three fights in the division, Joaquin Buckley it now occupies 11th position in the ranking.

Target of the North American, Gilbert Durinho suffered two consecutive defeats in the octagon, the last of which was in March, against Jack Della Maddalenaand occupies sixth place in the category led by the champion Leon Edwards.
