Members of Cruzeiro organizers are arrested for throwing stones at cars after the end of Mineiro | mid-west forest zone

Four members of an organized Cruzeiro fan base were arrested on Saturday night for throwing stones and sticks at vehicles on the banks of the MG-050 in Itaúna, in the Center-West of Minas Gerais. The confusion occurred hours after the 2-2 draw between Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG in the first game of the Campeonato Mineiro final.

According to the Military Police (PM), a complaint indicated that around 30 people were throwing objects at cars. According to the corporation, the suspects, who were wearing organized uniforms, threw stones at vehicles, whether they belonged to members of rival fans or not.

When the police arrived at the scene, several suspects fled and left the objects they threw in the street. According to the military, some of them were holding something on their waist as if they were carrying firearms.

The police arrested four of them, aged between 21 and 31, who tried to hide in a bush. They confessed that they participated in a party at the fans’ headquarters during the game and there they made the decision to throw the objects together with the organization’s leadership.

Also according to the PM, three of the four prisoners had previous police experience for crimes such as disobedience, drug use, aggression, theft and theft. They were taken to the Civil Police station.

In the report, the president of the organization, Rafael Gonçalves, said he was surprised by the news, regretted what happened and said that the fans had no involvement in the acts committed. According to him, the Blue Mafia only promoted the broadcast of the match at the headquarters and that, among those arrested, there were people who were not part of the fans nor were at the event.
