The CBF is studying at least two options to replace coach Ramon Menezes in charge of the under-20 team.

Paulo Victor Gomes and Fábio Matias are analyzed by the CBF. Both coaches are employed.

Paulo won everything at Palmeiras’ under-20s before becoming André Jardine’s assistant at América (MEX).

The two-time Copinha champion for Verdão is happy in América, but is considered a priority in the CBF.

Alternatives for the position

The alternative is Fábio Matias, assistant and current interim coach at Botafogo.

Matias expected to be hired, but the Rio club must bring in a replacement for Tiago Nunes. Portuguese Artur Jorge, from Braga, is the favorite.

The CBF reformulated professional men’s football with Dorival Júnior and company and is now targeting a new command at the base. President Ednaldo Rodrigues also wants a director for the lower categories.

Ramon Menezes lost strength after Brazil was left out of the Olympics. The official departure is a matter of time.
