Flamengo’s health and high performance manager, Marcio Tannure, commented this Thursday on issues in his area at the club, including Gerson’s recovery and preparation for the games at altitude in the Libertadores. The doctor avoided talking about Gabigol’s situation, suspended for attempting to cheat on an anti-doping test.

But what we do is feel as little as possible – commented Tannure after the Super Fut Summit event, held in Rio de Janeiro this Thursday.

Another topic was Gerson’s recovery. Recovering from surgery he underwent due to a urinary infection, the midfielder returned to working in the field last Wednesday, when he walked around one of the Ninho do Urubu fields.

– It’s a gradual return. I can only be calm when he is playing, after all, complications can happen. Football is everyday life. As expected, he is doing well. But there is still a way to go. Last Monday, Gabigol received a two-year suspension for attempting to cheat on an anti-doping test. Tannure declined to comment on the topic.

– Here in Brazil, we have to praise, because football is the most tested sport. Obviously no player likes to be tested, some are afraid of needles when taking a blood test. We have to understand each person’s peculiarities. But it is obvious that we are in favor of anti-doping. It is a policy of protection for athletes and sporting equality. Is important.
